Maple Mehndi was started in Vermont when Bridgette Bartlett found and fell in love with the art of henna back in 2011. Her passion for henna has led her on extensive travels to explore her curiosity, refine her craft and share creativity with those she meets along the way. To support her seasonal lifestyle, Bridgette has found home on the island of Martha’s Vineyard for the past 8 years. She offers her henna services here during the summer and shoulder seasons and spends the winter exploring the world beyond island life.

Over the past decade, Maple Mehndi has become known for a style that honors the timeless tradition of henna in a contemporary light. Bridgette’s remarkable eye for detail is exercised by finding inspiration in patterns from architecture, nature, and textile. Designs are imagined through her henna applicator filled with hand mixed organic henna paste. This mastery of henna has attracted clients from a wide variety of cultures, countries and backgrounds. Bridgette is also a sought after instructor for workshops both internationally and domestically.
